Introduction to Yoga Philosophy and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras

In this course, Judith Hanson Lasater offers a practical perspective on how we can enrich our yoga practice through the lens of ancient yoga philosophy and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

Judith will discuss Samkhya philosophy and show how it is the foundation for the practice of yoga. Understanding some basic tenets of Samkhya philosophy will help to enlighten the practical framework we need for practice.

From that perspective, Judith will discuss Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra and discuss some of the most important sutra which can enliven and enhance our approach to yoga practice, yoga teaching, and yoga therapy.
