Leeann Carey is an acclaimed yoga instructor with over 25 years of teaching experience, who has taught and inspired thousands of students and teachers worldwide. She is the founder and creator of Yaapana, a 300-hr yoga therapy and continuing yoga education program, which educates yoga instructors how to apply yoga therapy to prevent and heal injuries, and maintain a balanced approach to a healthy yoga practice.
Leeann’s eclectic blend of yoga, forged over many years of study with such teachers as Kofi Busia, Donna Farhi, Erich Schiffmann, and Judith Lasater just to name a few, appeals to a wide range of students. Leeann shares that knowledge today, both personally and through Yaapana workshops, retreats and teacher training programs which she developed, and which are also taught by LCY mentors across the United States. Leeann’s teaching style focuses on the therapeutic elements of yoga, personalizing the practice to meet individual needs. She is often referred to as the “teacher's teacher".
She has taught yoga to a vast range of people from world class athletes, celebrities and people on the healing path from injuries or chronic health issues, to individuals pursuing physical, mental, and spiritual transformation. Yoga with Leeann is unique. Students have experienced her loving presence, her balanced approach to technical and organic instruction, and her ability to lead students through a clean and logical path of process, progression and realization.
