Leaping Towards Hanumanasana

Karen Fuhrman

Hanumanasana is the pose dedicated to Lord Hanuman, who was known for his famous leap from the southern tip of India to the island of Sri Lanka.  It is a challenging posture that requires flexibility in both the hamstrings and the hip flexors. This sequence is designed to deeply open up the hips as well as the backs of the legs, helping you find more balance between the two while you are in the peak pose. Since Hanumanasana is often referred to as a "dream pose,"modifications will be offered so that no matter what level you are at in your practice, you can still enjoy the many benefits of this pose.
